Katherine Davis is a reporter at CBS 47.
Katie is excited to be part of CBS 47’s Investigative Unit, covering consumer and investigative stories in addition to her duties as a general assignment reporter. She’s a member of Investigative Reporters & Editors and was awarded a fellowship to the 2006 IRE Conference for her work with CBS 47.
She grew up in Southern California, but headed east for college at Cornell University. Thanks to some hard work and a scholarship from CBS News, she also earned a Master’s Degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2003.
Her television career began at KMPH in Fresno, where she worked as a morning and midday producer. She then headed to KNDO in Yakima, Washington to work as a “one man band” reporter. Her duties included shooting, writing and editing her own stories and sometimes even setting up her own live shots.
When she’s not chasing a story, Katie loves to run. She completed the Cross City Race and the Trail of Two Cities Half Marathon in the Fresno area in 2006. She’s also a member of the Junior League of Fresno, an organization of women volunteers who focus on helping children in need.
