Roopam Sidhu co-anchors and updates your commute every morning on CBS 47 This Morning.
Roopam is a native of Fresno. She attended Edison High School (Go Tigers!) and received her Bachelors in Communications and Spanish Literature from UCLA.
She started her career in news at CBS 47, landing a job behind the scenes as a nightside assignment editor. With the help of reporters and management, she landed her first on-air job in Yakima, Washington. In 2005, after a 2 year stint in the Northwest, CBS 47 invited her back as a general assignment reporter, but also to do morning news and traffic on local radio stations like Soft Rock 98.9. After a few months, Roopam started updating your traffic commute on CBS 47 This Morning in addition to her duties on the radio other news reports. In the Fall of 2006, Roopam was invited to co-anchor CBS 47 This Morning with John Wallace.
For Roopam, it is a dream come true.
Roopam is blessed to have her family (parents, sister and brother) welcome her home with open arms. In her spare time, she loves to read, go to the gym…and sleep. She loves meeting new people of different ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. You’ll often find Roopam exploring the “hidden” secrets of the Valley, always trying to find the best hometown restaurants, stores and events. She loves farmers markets, wine tasting, curling up in a comfy chair at the bookstore and spending hours doing and buying absolutely nothing at Target.
